Position
Team leader
Date
November 2010 – May 2011
Description of role
The department was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the resort. I worked for the sub-division of Roads and Parking, which was tasked with maintaining all roads, car parks, walkways and village thoroughfares. We also facilitated the safe transport of guests off the mountain to the clinic when injured. I became a team leader and on separate occasions was left solely in charge of the Roads and Parking division when my manager was absent.
I received additional training allowing me to coordinate with police and close down roads to enable the patrol helicopter to land at the clinic, training on the use of heavy equipment such as mini diggers and Bobcats for snow removal, in addition to more standard training relating to lighter machinery. I also received a nomination from my peers for an excellence award from Whistler Blackcomb and as a side role wired and detonated fireworks to timings as part of the Whistler Blackcomb’s Fire & Ice Show.
